Seriously, man. Get smart! Like take a class or something. It kind of happened on accident in my case, as I started taking a night class before I became job-free. Actually, in my class during a movie screening I partook in my first overhaul-style festival of list making. Anyway, here are some thoughts on educational endeavors with which to occupy your free time.
- First aid! This is something that relatively few of us have actually done. Don't be like me. See, I assume that I already know how to do the Heimlich Maneuver and mouth to mouth resuscitation, but watching cartoon impressions and doing a lot of frenching in my 20s doesn't count. It's a good idea though!
- Photo Shopping! If I had taken one of these classes before, you wouldn't have to see my ironically non-hilarious photo creations.
- Foreign language! Parlez-vous francais? Oui! Who knows, maybe this will help you land a new bilingual job.
- Cooking! I don't actually recommend paying for this. Instead, I think it's a better idea to invite a friend over who is a whiz at say, Indian cooking. Make that person teach you how to cook in lieu of you purchasing ingredients. You can do this cheap-like.
I was shock and awed to learn how inexpensive local city colleges are. It's like $50 a class or something ridick like that. You can also share a book with a classmate instead of buying your own. When I was employed I went the selfish and anti-social route and bought a brand new book of my own for my class. Bad move, dude!
