Don't be bitter. I think this is the hardest part about losing your job, being let go, suffering from a "downsize." I was "eliminated," which reminded me of one of those dating shows on UPN where people go to hot tub establishments, gross. Anyway, a healthy amount of pouting is to be expected, but it was my personal mission not to be a bitter baby about the whole event. I don't work there anymore, therefore the goings on there really don't concern me. I mean, gossip is neat but being mad about what's happening in your absence is just weird. Right?
So, that said, here are my tips for the first week of joblessness:
- apply for unemployment - duh! read all about it, educate yourself.
- do your chores before bed, waking up to a clean house will do wonders for the daytime blues, which brings me to my next and most important point...
- DO NOT WATCH THE VIEW, OPRAH, MAURY or anything else that reeks of MASH.
- create a new routine...spend some time with your lists, fill up your buckets.
- second most important, SLEEP IN!
